Macy'S Store Closings 2024 Schedule. Macy's is closing five stores and trimming its workforce by 3.5%, the retailer confirmed to axios thursday. As part of this ongoing plan, macy’s said earlier this year that it would close 150 locations through 2026, including an estimated 50 stores in fiscal 2024.

By 2026, it will have just 350 macy’s stores, the company announced. Macy’s will set off a wave of change at malls, as it closes about 150 namesake stores across the country by early 2027.
